A protégé of the iconic Anselme Selosse and an adherent of biodynamic farming, Alexandre Chartogne is one of the rising stars in the region. One of the great values and introductions to Grower Champagnes, this wine has a slightly oxidative state that captures the nuttiness of Champagne, with notes of almond comingling with mineral, lemon, and golden raisin. This wine is a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir.

From the Krug-like wines of Vilmart to the impossible to find Saignee de Sorbee of Vouette et Sorbée, IWM is pleased to offer this introduction to the popular “Grower Champagne” category that showcases the different styles of wine produced through non-vintage bottlings; these are the introductory labels intended to be consumed in the short term. Many of these vinous sparklers beg to be experienced like a Burgundy, not through a flute, but a larger more bulbous glass to best capture the bouquet and benefits of aeration.
