Since moving from Belgium to the Barbaresco region of Piemonte in 1860, the DeForville family has been cultivating Nebbiolo grapes. The 25-acre DeForville estate solely sold wine to neighbors and restaurants until 1940, when it released its first bottlings. Owned and operated by Valter and Paolo Anfosso, descendents of the original DeForvilles, this estate is committed to cultivating and vinifying their wines in traditional methods in order to create age-worthy wines whose earth, fruit and flower complexity grow more nuanced as the wines mature.
