Celebrate Life Merlot powerfully conveys its Italian roots, maintaining its identity with an ode to the Friulian terroir where it was conceived. The cool climate gives it structure with notes of raspberry, graphite, currants on the nose. In the mouth black cherry, dried figs and chocolate are all wrapped in with very soft tannins. This is a great wine to have readily at hand as it is designed to consumed young.
|
The Friulano Sant’Helena is a beautiful straw-yellow color with a bouquet of flowers and freshly dried hay. On the palate, it is soft but dry with hints of almond.

Slightly coppery, exquisite white wine whose floral notes mingle with almonds and walnuts. Well-balanced and full-bodied. This wine has a very strong personality which it takes from the macroclimate in which the grapes grow.
|
Only 100 percent Friulano could make this white so elegant with flavors of white peach and apricots with refreshing minerality. Grown on the historic vineyards once owned by ontessa Weiz Del Mestri, the Tenuta della Contessa provides 50- to 80-year-old vine for the formerly-known "Tocai" variety. The wine is ready to drink now and was produced in only a small quantity (625 cases).

Experience what happens to Friuli's long-lived white grape in the hands of the world's leading bio dynamic producer. Ribolla Gialla has long been revered by the iconoclasts of Friuli. In Lunar, a pure Ribolla, the dynamic and accomplished Ales Kristancic of Movia desired to be totally hands off, allowing the wine, in a manner of speaking, to make itself. This by no means implies that the wine is simple to produce, as such a natural approach requires a command of both traditional and biodynamic principles: Ales ages the wine on the lees inside small Slavonian oak barrels for over two years without racking, a viticultural decision that produces the wine's unusual coloring. With its ciderlike hue, this striking beauty calls immediate and dramatic attention to its esoteric nature. Compelling and utterly unique, this is the essence of Ribolla raw and resplendent pure wonder under the Friulian moon.

This Sauvignon declines to take a contemporary and familiar style, offering a lush, full-bodied interpretation with a mild tropical character and savory dimension.
|
It is the most controversial and misunderstood wine that we have carried in the past three years. More importantly, though, Gravner's Breg Anfora has also been the most inspirational, earning Gravner a dedicated chapter in Sergio's new memoir, Passion on the Vine

Ribolla Gialla is one of Friuli's oldest indigenous vines, and enjoyed the distinction of serving as the drink of choice—under the name Rabiola del Collio—in the Republic of Venice. While virtually unknown to a modern audience, Josko Gravner authored a movement dedicated to its reclamation, endeavoring to comprehend this difficult varietal's character and nuances over a period spanning two decades. His work with Ribolla represents the achievement of which he is most proud.
