Like its entry-level sibling, Graci Etna Rosso, the Quota 600 makes the most of indigenous grape Nerello Mascalese, the Pinot Noir of Sicilia. Like a 1920s silent film siren, the Quota 600, named for the vineyard’s elevation, has a dark, almost Gothic grace and a disarming charm. Layers of bursting-ripe wild cherries, cranberries and even kumquats arrest the nose and the palate, roses and tar linger there too, a bite of acidity, a soupcon of minerality, and silky tannins complete the experience. Delectable and drinking for the next decade.
