A Sit-Down Tasting

Wine is a living thing, and like all living things, it changes with age. While everyone knows that wines mature, not everyone knows exactly what "maturity" means. This special tasting, led by IWM's own Francesco Vigorito and accompanied by regional meats and cheeses, focuses on the same wine--but years apart! Francesco will pour you vintage red wine pairs so that you can experience the ways that differing growing years, bottle age, and other factors affect the wines in your glass. Appreciating mature wines requires palate education, but it offers a rich payoff in terms of your understanding, knowledge and enjoyment. This tasting will help wine newbies come to recognize the nuances of maturity, and it will help deepen wine connoisseurs' knowledge. Wine is time in a bottle, and this tasting will let you see the many ways that maturity is magic!

A Sit-Down Tasting

When wine-lovers think "Piemonte," Barolo is the first thing that comes to mind, quickly followed by Barbaresco. But those two wines, as great as they are, are only the visible tip of Piemonte's treasures. IWM President Will Di Nunzio will lead this sit-down tasting, accompanied by meats and cheeses, and give you insights into the traditions, terroir and tastes of Italy's most collectable wine region. Of course, we'll be pouring Barolos and Barbarescos, but we'll also explore Piemonte's lesser-known gems like Barbera, the region's whites and even other surprises from IWM's cellars. An ideal event both for people new to Piemonte's exceptional wines and for those who already love its wines, this tasting of Piemonte's gems will enrich any wine-lover's body of knowledge. Let IWM take you deep into the heart of Piemonte, and let yourself fall in love all over again..

A Sit-Down Tasting Dinner

IWM has called Antinori one of our signature producers since we opened the doors more than fifteen years ago, and our clients have loved Antinori's wines just as long (if not longer). Join us as we host Albiera Antinori, winemaker and brand ambassador from the Antinori family of wines, for a special winemaker dinner celebrating Guado al Tasso, Antinori's famed Bolgheri estate. Albiera will be on hand to give the esteemed estate's history and provide insight into a special selection of Guado al Tasso wines that will be paired with five courses handmade by IWM's own Chef Michael Marcelli and his in-house kitchen. Cohosted by IWM President Will Di Nunzio, this evening with Albiera will give you an insider's view into the family behind Guado al Tasso, one of IWM's favorite estates. A unique, extraordinary opportunity to experience Italian winemaking history with the winemaker herself, this intimate Antinori event is available only at IWM, the world's leading authority in Italian wine.
