A Sit-Down Tasting

Great grapes make great wines, and this tasting features two of the very best: Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir. While these two grape varietals grow other places, Nebbiolo is best known for its Piemonte roots, and Pinot Noir for Burgundy. To highlight the history and typicity of these noble grapes, we'll be pouring wines from both historic regions--and we may slip in some surprises as well. This special event, led by Francesco Vigorito and accompanied by regional meats and cheeses, will explore the magic that happens when a specific grape meets its ideal soil, microclimate, regional traditions and producers. Learn more about Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir as you come to appreciate the wines these two grapes have given us wine-lovers. Wine is a life-long love affair, and there's always room for more in your glass!

A Sit-Down Tasting

Campania, Abruzzo, Sicilia, and Puglia--the South of Italy doesn't get as much notice as Italy's North, especially when it comes to winemaking. However overshadowed by their showy northern neighbors, Italy's southern regions are where Italian winemaking began, and they're the sites of undiscovered gems. Join us as we explore the history, traditions, producers, grapes and styles of Italy's southern winemaking regions. We'll pour wines from makers like Raffaele Palma, whose estate sits on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, and made from grapes like Aglianico, an indigenous varietal rescued from extinction. Whites, reds and rosés all hail from Italy's South, where you can find surprisingly affordable bottles that are as finessed, age-worthy and delicious as those from the North. Accompanied by regional meats and cheeses, this tasting gives you a tour of wines off the beaten path, where things are wild and thrilling.

Participants receive:
