Giuseppe Quintarelli is the Veneto’s most important producer, renowned for his near-mythical Amarone, Recioto and the cult wine, Alzero. Although there are other fine Amarone producers, including Quintarelli’s prot�g�e, Romano dal Forno, the Quintarelli Amarone is inarguably the benchmark for the wine. Quintarelli also established the standard for other Veneto reds, including Recioto and Valpolicella Superiore. He is a resolute traditionalist, following the winemaking standards and practices established by his father and grandfather. He is also a perfectionist, practicing rigorous grape selection and releasing his wines to market when he deems them ready—often many years after his fellow Veneto producers
