Inky and piquant with acidity, this ’07 Barbera from husband-and-wife team Nicola Argamante (vineyard manager) and Loredana Addari (winemaker) offers a lot to its drinker. Dense and rich as old-world velvet, the wine comes from sixty-year-old vines, so it’s especially striking. Loads of brambly black fruit, a sweet dusting of baking spices, a pretty waft of floral aromatics and a touch of dark chocolate at the finish make this a food-friendly delicious wine. Drinking to the end of the decade.

Podere Ruggeri Corsini was founded in 1995 by husband and wife team of Nicola Argamante and Loredana Addari. Both Nicola and Loredana, the latter being a prominent viticulturalist who has consulted for some of the biggest names in Italian wine, graduated with Agricultural degrees specializing in winegrowing and enology. They left the city and set up shop on a small farm in Monforte d'Alba, where they now produced a spectacular portfolio of wine.
