Sella
e Mosca Sella
e Mosca represents the collaboration of two professionals
from Piemonte (Sella, an engineer and Mosca, a lawyer)
who became enamored of Sicilia’s landscape. Founded
at the very turn of the twentieth century, Sella and Mosca
currently comprises over 650 hectares of land, 500 of which
are under vine, making it one of the largest European producers
of bottlings sourced from estate-grown grapes. The portfolio
comprises three labels, two of which feature the native
varietals of both Italy and Sicilia (most notably among
the latter is Cannonau); the third treats international
favorites Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. The winery
operates a museum that profiles its history, delivering
a special presentation on the prehistoric necropolis of
Anghelu Ruju, which was discovered on the estate’s
property in 1903.
