The Murgo estate is situated in a privileged position southeast of Mount Etna and has been making wines traditional to this territory since 1850. A Sicilian gem, this wine, made of 100 percent Nerello Mascalese, and indigenous grape of the region, exhibits hints of cherry and red fruit, with an intense aroma f fruits and flowers. This wine has a long mineral finish with persistent bubbles and nice acidity.
|
Although Giacosa is one of Piemonte's foremost producers (of Barolo and Barbaresco), he elects to produce this 100% Pinot Nero spumante in Piemonte's neighboring region of Lombardia—formerly a part of Piemonte—specifically in the Oltrepo Pavese zone.
