Castellino's fairy tale castle sits at the foot of Monte Orfano with 24 hectares (13 planted to vines) in Coccaglio, one of Franciacortaâ™s most prized sites. This southern area enjoys a unique terroir with better exposure and hotter temperatures than other zones, and the Bonomi family oversees ripening patterns so perfect they regularly draw experts and students from the University of Milan, who inspect and marvel at the vines. The passion of owners Marino, Sandro, and Fausto Bonomi has driven the evolution of Tenuta Castellino into one of the region's leading producers. Luca d'Attoma conceptualized 'Super Lombardy' reds to complement the estate's classic, top-notch sparklers, and new enologist Leonardo Valentini unfalteringly continued his work producing Castellino's rich, structured wines that age exclusively in French oak barriques.
