A cru Valpolicella from grapes grown in the high-altitude Semonte Alto vineyard, this wine shows especially dark, winsome and charming. Ripe fruit, vivacious herbal aromatics, a zip of acidity, and that thrum that can only come from a ripasso wine make this “baby Amarone” special. Drinking now.

The Massimino Venturini Estate, established in 1963 is located in Verona, in the commune of S. Pietro in Cariano. The vineyard is planted on steep terraced hillsides overlooking the city, supported by stonewalls called “marogne”. The estate is run by the Venturini family: father Masssimino and sons Daniele, Mirco, and daughter Giuseppina. The Massimino estate uses only their grapes and produces 70% Corvina Veronese, 20% Rondinella, and 10% Molinara. Several of the wines produced are “cru” wines named after the estate on which they are made.
