Under $80 Seghesio Barolo Riserva, Bachey-Legros 2012s, and Giacosa Barolo Mags!
April 6, 2015
A Note from Sergio

Today, I'm delighted to spotlight Renzo Seghesio, a maker of really good Barolo, and present the estate's 2008 Barolo Pajana Riserva. My clients know Renzo Seghesio, but if you're new to IWM, you're also probably new to this producer. You might think you've heard of him, but you're probably confusing this estate with another, either Piemonte's Aldo and Riccardo Seghesio or Sonoma's Seghesio Vineyards. Unless you've been very, very fortunate, you've likely never tasted Renzo Seghesio's rustic but elegant Barolo because IWM is one of the few retailers in the US who carry these wines. In fact, it's hard to find out much information on these hard-to-find Barolos at all.

In addition to this under $80 Barolo Riserva, I'm pleased to present a new allocation of four 2012 wines from Christine Bachey's domaine, Bachey-Legros. We started carrying these organic Burgundies a few years ago, and IWM's Burghead clients have consistently clamored for more. Finally, I'm very happy to offer something to those of you whose passion is collecting Italian wine: magnums of of 2008 Giacosa Barolo Le Rocche Falletto Riserva. You don't get much better than this.
