A Note from Sergio

Domaine Ponsot is a special Burgundy house. First, there's vigneron Laurent Ponsot, who talks about his winemaking with a kind of religious devotion. "My crusade is to produce the most authentic wines," Ponsot says, with admirable passion. Beyond Ponsot's dedication to his vines and to his winemaking, there is Ponsot's land, which holds some of the best terroir in Burgundy. But while location is important, it's not everything. When, in the 1970s, spraying vineyards with insecticides and fertilizers was all the rage, Ponsot didn't do it, so its vineyards are low in potassium and higher in acids, which means that Ponsot doesn't have to harvest as early as many of its Burgundy neighbors. Because of the estate's choices four decades ago, Ponsot's grapes spend more time on the vine basking in the late autumn sun, so they have gorgeous, ripe tannins that lend a sublime richness to Ponsot's wines.

Today, I'm very proud to bring you almost thirty Domaine Ponsot wines, all at special pricing. You'll find Ponsot's famed grand cru wines, as well as its premier cru bottles, and a couple value-packed village wines. It's hard to find Ponsot's Burgundies after their initial releases because these wines are so in demand, and their fans snap them up quickly. The list that my portfolio managers and I have put together draws primarily from the lush, kinetic 2011 vintage, but you'll also find wines from 2012 and 2013--as well as one special 2009. Whether you're a new Burghead or a collector with a cellar full of Burgundy's gems, this offer should excite you. Ponsot makes outrageous, high quality wines. These Ponsot wines are certain to appreciate in value, but even more important, they're sure to create peak experiences for your guests, your family, and you.

Enjoy!
