Description Sub Region Producer Notes

This 1988 Semillon clearly illustrates the Prince’s  prediction that his wine would age for 20 or more years. It also shows how this decades old wine, drinks with remarkable youthfulness. From the vibrant gold hue to the rich-range of aromatics, it presents  an incredible complexity and a highly uncommon experience in the world of white wine as a whole. More candied fruits reach out on the bright palate, but so do earth components, like minerals and resin, evolving from sip to sip. The intense, golden Fiorano Semillions highlight the nutty, waxy side of the grape varietal, but these wines are yet more special. They seem to have found the elixir of youth, and their extreme age-ability finds a complement in their freshness and appears in their brocade-like texture, complexity, and unusual minerality and earthiness.
