Description Sub Region Producer Notes

The 1968 Barolo is a blend of three legendary vineyards sites--Monprivato, Bussia Soprano, and Villero--the latter two you have come to know through Aldo Conterno and Bruno Giacosa; this traditional Giuseppe Mascarello Barolo blends grapes from all three vineyards for aromatics, structure and fruit to create a legendary wine that's a historical piece of Barolo that still impresses today. At almost fifty years of age, this is one of the most impressive drinking Barolos to date; the wine offers intense beauty and showcases Barolo's ethereal nose and weightless body, while providing extraordinary fruit, truffle, and earthy, meaty notes. Just the second bottling from great traditionalist Mauro Mascarello, this vintage wine comes with pristine, straight-line provenance and perfect maturity.
