A Note from Sergio
I love Champagne. You can never go wrong with a good bottle of Champagne. Champagne makes food taste delicious, conversation sparkle, and your night enchanting, but more than that, opening a serious bottle of Champagne is like conjuring magic. The one wine that means the same thing to everyone, Champagne sets a beautiful mood that everyone in your party will get.Today's Featured Sections Include:
Today, I'm delighted to shine a spotlight on one singular bottle, André Clouet Cuvée 1911. This Champagne house is different, and this wine is unusual. André Clouet blends a special selection of vintages together to make a wine that brings out the best. It's definitely a wine whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and the most recent release is spectacular. Most serious Champagne lovers go for vintage bottles, but this cuvée is one that should be in their cellars and on their lips. It's rich, textured, and complex, and it cries out for seafood, duck or roasted chicken.
Along with this wine that makes celebrations out of meals, I'm very happy to offer a pair of Renzo Seghesio Barolo Ginestra vintages, the 2011 and the 2012. A boutique Barolo house, Renzo Seghesio used to grow grapes for Domenico Clerico, but now the estate bottles its own Barolo--today's duo is lush and powerful. Finally, I managed to score a few bottles of Tormaresca 2012 Bocca di Lupo Castel del Monte, which comes from Antiori's beautiful estate in Puglia. This is full-throttle Aglianico that's pure velvety elegance!
