Cool and expressive fruit splashes across the palate in this beguiling ’11 Bourgogne that welcomes you with its attractive mid-weight palate. Nicely structured, this very genial bottle is nimble yet complex enough to hold your interest. This is the perfect wine to take out with friends while indulging in some meats and cheeses. Deriving from an almost four-acre parcel of vines averaging thirty years of age, the grapes for this wine enjoy cold maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation before aging for about fourteen months in barrique, at least 60% new.

The history of the Lamarche family in the village of Vosne-Romanée dates back to the mid-eighteenth century, and it’s an important line for Burgheads. Henri Lamarche, a cooper, founded the estate and leaves his name and legacy. Fast-forward to today, the renowned 27-acre estate is run by sixth-generation winemakers Nicole and Natalie, who are sisters and daughters of the late, great François Lamarche, who passed his talents and his estate on to them. Lamarche holds its place as a leading domaine, producing wines that express themselves through their subtlety rather than their power, and bottlings that display ripe, high-toned fruit and strong sense of terroir. Domaine Lamarche produces 14 different wines in total, including La Grande Rue, a monopole of the estate and one of the rare grand crus of Vosne-Romanée; all are exceptional representations of their terroir, this estate, and Burgundy’s traditions.
