Rare Fiorano Flash Sale! Twenty Fiorano Gems at 20% Off!
November 12, 2018
A Note from Sergio

From the 1970s through the 1990s, the Alberico Boncompagni Ludovisi, the Prince of Venosa, grew grapes at his Fiorano estate and, from them, he made whites that showed a phenomenal ability to age. Hard to get during his lifetime, Ludovisi's wines became even more rare after the prince, a member of the Antinori family, passed away (Alessia Antinori is Ludovisi's granddaughter, and her work at Alberico, which sits on a portion of Fiorano's lands, is noteworthy and inspiring). As he neared the end of his life, Ludovisi made the bold decision to tear out all the vines in his storied vineyards--such was his will that his vines would not end up in the wrong hands. The prince then entrusted his private cellar to renowned Italian wine and food writer Luigi Veronelli, who agreed to place the bottles with trusted people who could keep his story alive, while preserving the specialness of the wines.

Veronelli chose to entrust me with a portion of the prince's wines, and his confidence in my ability to take care of these wines is one of the great honors of my professional life. Veronelli has since passed away, and I have only a few bottles of these Fiorano wines left in IWM's cellars. I have taken my promise to Veronelli--and by extension, my promise to Ludovisi--very seriously. I've made sure that these Fiorano whites have been cared for as they quietly aged in an ideal, cool environment, and I've worked hard to put these wines in the hands of wine-lovers who understand how special these Fiorano bottles are. Today, I'm very proud to present twenty Fiorano vintages with special pricing. If you're the kind of person who understands that wine is a living thing, who appreciates the rare, ineffable beauty that comes with mature wines, and who drinks a bottle of wine and senses time's liquid majesty, these wines are for you.

Enjoy!
