Introducing A.R. Lenoble with Two Affordable, Gorgeous Grower Champagnes!
November 22, 2019
A Note from Sergio

There's something very special about Champagne. It's not just that Champagne has inspired songs and poems, and it's not that wars have been fought in its name. Champagne is so iconic that just whispering the word summons feelings of sophistication, images of rejoicing, memories of bliss. No other wine inspires the kind of reaction that Champagne does; and no other wine embodies festivity like it. Pop open a bottle of good Champagne, and you do more than bring people together. You get them to celebrate life.

I love Champagne, and I'll bet that you do too. Today, I'm delighted to introduce the family-owned A.R. Lenoble estate with a pair of this winery's grower Champagnes, and each one is less than $70! It's hard to beat that price for a bottle of beautifully made Champagne, and this duo is outstanding. First, there's the ebullient, elegant Champagne Intense "Mag 15." This gorgeous golden non-vintage Champagne unfolds to show layers of tart fruits and toasted bread as it tickles the tongue with its tiny bubbles. Second, there is Lenoble's thrilling and juicy Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Chouilly "Mag 14," a wine that holds you in its tensions. Both of these non-vintage Champagnes sport huge percentages of reserve wines that were aged in magnum under cork, a painstaking process that produces exceptionally complex, vivid wines.

The holidays are almost here--and A.R. Lenoble will help you celebrate. Enjoy!

Crisp, fresh, and superbly textured, the complex Intense "Mag 15" wraps its juicy orchard fruits around a classic Champagne spine of pastry dough, white flower petals, toasted almonds, and fruit compote. Brisk acidity and persistent perlage fill the mouth, while lively fruits and subtle minerality propel the wine’s lingering finish. This non-vintage Champagne is a stunner that over-delivers on its modest pricing! A blend of 45% Pinot Meunier, 40% Pinot Noir, and 15% Chardonnay that derive from Damery, Bisseuil, and Chouilly, respectively, this Champagne is composed of 45% reserve wine, most aged in magnum under cork, and 55% 2015 base wine; after blending, this Champagne aged on the lees for three years in the winery’s ancient chalk caves before disgorgement and a final small dosage. more info
