A Note from Sergio
You won't often see Chavy-Chouet's wines on Robert Parker or the Wine Spectator, Burghound or Vinous, but this under-the-radar Burgundy estate is an IWM client favorite. Romaric Chavy-Chouet was trained by his father, Hubert, the domaine's founder, and he's helmed Chavy-Chouet since his dad passed away about five years ago. Romaric makes some of Burgundy's best values from his multiple parcels scattered across the regions of Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, St.Aubin, Volnay, and Pommard. Authentic, exacting, singular and delicious, Chavy-Chouet's Burgundies are precisely the kind of wines that I love to champion--even better, these wines way over-perform their relatively modest price points.Today's Featured Sections Include:
Whenever Chavy-Chouet's wines hit our shelves, they sell out, and today, I'm delighted to announce the debut of two of Chavy-Chouet's outstanding 2018 wines, its Meursault Les Narvaux and Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères. Hot and dry, 2018 is a terrific year for red Burgundy, but you have to pick and choose the vintage's whites. This Chavy-Chouet duo highlights the vintage's tensions between ripeness and energy, and between opulence and precision--these white Burgundies are fascinating! You can enjoy today's Les Narvaux and Les Enseignères right away--but you can also cellar them for drinking five years down the road.
Priced at less than $75 a bottle, both of these Chavy-Chouet 2018 debuts will make white wine lovers and Burgheads very, very happy--and they'll likely make some new converts to the cult of Chavy-Chouet along the way.
