Ruby red with violet highlights, the color of this refreshing, food-friendly Montepulciano d’Abruzzo hints at its aroma of purple fruits and wildflowers, both complemented by spice, earth and a touch of minerals. Fresh and harmonious, this ’13 Montepulciano is an affordable, delightful go-to red, especially for summertime. After harvesting, the grapes for this wine ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for about two weeks, after which the wine ages in stainless steel for a year before bottling, where it rests for six months before release.

Created by Dr. Dino Felice for Vignaioli, leading importers of Italian wine, Per Linda makes a limited selection of three traditional Abruzzo wines: Cerasuolo, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo. Felice works with growers of organic grapes whose vineyards are located on the hillside of Rocca San Giovanni, a town in the Chieti province of Abruzzo, to create these emblematic traditional expressions. Named after Felice’s wife, Per Linda is as much a labor of love as it is an exploration into Abruzzese wines.
