Tenuta di Trecciano Chianti Colli Senesi 2018 750ml
In Stock
Price: $19.99
Special Price: $13.99
Light, tangy and refreshing, this ’18 Chianti leaps from the glass in a profusion of youthful red and blue fruits, warm earth, violet petals, baking spices, and white pepper. Dusty tannins, electric acidity, and a subtle thrum of earth make this Chianti a food-friendly delight. This mono-varietal Sangiovese derives from compact red soils that are high in minerals; grapes ferment for 30 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel, and the wine ages for seven months in botti, followed by four months in bottle prior to release.

Price: $29.99
Special Price: $17.99
Charming and fruity, this ’15 Chianti Riserva puts its lush cherries and brambly berries in the spotlight, framing them with baking spices, warm earth, violet petals, and new leather. Round yet sprightly, this wine fills the mouth with a sweet inner perfume as a thrumming iron-ore bass line moves it to a brisk, food-friendly finish. Named after the red earth of its vineyards, this Chianti Riserva is an ideal Tuesday-night wine. After being hand-picked, Sangiovese grapes ferment with selected yeasts for about two weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel; the wine ages for 18 months in botti, followed by at least four months of bottle rest before release.
La Sala Chianti Classico 2015 750ml

Price: $29.99
Special Price: $19.99
Peppery spices, crushed herbs, violet petals, warm loam, and a kiss of oak frame the juicy red and blue fruits in this zesty, full-throttle ’15 Chianti Classico. This appealing wine wraps its sweet fruits around a savory mineral core and finishes with lovely dusty tannins that linger on the palate. Deriving from grapes grown in in the San Casciano Val di Pesa located in the western section of the Chianti Classico zone, this Chianti Classico is mostly Sangiovese with about 10% Merlot; grapes enjoy temperature-controlled fermentation, and the wine ages for a year, half in French oak barrels and half in steel, before bottling and resting for six more months.
Monteraponi Chianti Classico 2018 750ml

Christopher Deas, Italian Wine Merchants: “This is a serious little Chianti from Radda’s high altitude (400+ meters), on prized soils consisting of limestone, produced with a long maceration (25 days). The best tip we can provide on this wine is to wait a second … let this wine breathe. There is some immediate grip on this succulent and savory expression. Give it a two hour decant or have it on day two for the optimal experience, and know the best is yet to come. With aeration you can expect mulberry, raspberries, sour cherries, crushed violets, tomato leaf, olives, potpourri, tar, and green herbs. This is the very definition of what is meant by a high-toned, bright and pure Chianti that begs for food.”

Balancing its super-ripe fruits with its ebullient personality, this ’17 Chianti Classico is pure pleasure. Fistfuls of brambly berries and luscious cherries mingle with underbrush, mint, licorice, violet petals, new leather, blood orange zest, and a smear of blackberry jam in this scrumptious Chianti Classico. Fine-grained tannins, a sweet inner lift, and vivid acidity form a delicious whole in Castello dei Rampolla’s drink-me-now ’17 Chianti Classico, but make no mistake, this wine will drink beautifully over the medium term. This biodynamically grown and vinified Chianti Classico, a blend of 90% Sangiovese with the remainder split between Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, spends three months fermenting in concrete; the wine ages for a year in barrel, followed by six months in bottle prior to release.

Fontodi Chianti Classico 2017 750ml
In Stock
Price: $49.99
Special Price: $35.99
Fontodi is saying that its ’16 Chianti Classico drinks like a “baby Flaccianello,” and we have to agree: this wine reflects its banner vintage in its sheer finesse, its breathtaking balance between its juicy fruits and its savory earthiness, and its tensions between its copious dry extract and its keen acidity. Smokey minerals, warm earth, crushed violet petals, tobacco wrapper and licorice wrap the crisp red berries and lush blue fruits in this spellbinding Chianti Classico. Chewy tannins flesh out the wine’s silky, energetic palate, while satisfying savory notes anchor the lingering, complex and textured finish. An outstanding Chianti Classico, Fontodi’s 2016 will drink gorgeously out of the gate, but it has the stuffing to cellar for mid-term enjoyment. This mono-varietal Sangiovese derives from multiple vineyard sites; the grapes ferment for two weeks with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks, and the wine ages in barrels for eighteen months before bottling.

Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva Tignanello 2016 750ml
In Stock
Price: $49.99
Special Price: $39.99
Rich, expressive, and multi-layered, the ’16 Chianti Classico Riserva Tignanello radiates its excellent vintage in its transparency, energy and complexity. Peppery spices, melted chocolate, crushed river rocks, pressed violet petals, and a touch of espresso frame this wine’s sappy blue and snappy red fruits. On the palate, this ruby hued wine is a delectable confluence of contrasts--savory underpinnings complement sweet fruits, nervy acidity balances copious dry extracts, while fine-grained tannins cling to the cheeks and provide elegant structure. Chianti Classico doesn’t get much better than this Antinori bottling! A blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, the grapes derive from Antinori’s Tenuta Tignanello estate in the Chianti Classico production zone. The grapes for this wine ferment in temperature-controlled stainless steel for about ten days; the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak, and it ages for 14 months in a combination of French and Hungarian oak, followed by a year in bottle.
