With a velvety mouth-feel and a nicely acidic finish, this blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella and the remainder Croatina, the single-vineyard Ambrosan derives from a southwest-facing, sloping vineyard located in San Pietro in Cariano. Nicolis' approach includes placing harvested grapes in small cases during the three-month drying period; a long, slow fermentation period at low temperatures; the use of Croatina grapes, which take the place of Molinara, the usual third contributor to the blend; and aging in medium-sized Slavonian oak casks. more info

This collector's Amarone is a blend of indigenous Corvina along with Rondinella, Molinara, Negrara and traces of Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc, Sangiovese, and Nebbiolo. Following a slightly early harvest, grapes are left to dry out naturally in the appassimento method, which concentrates flavors and sugars to create Amarone’s distinct and hedonistic profile; after pressing the grapes and allowing them to ferment for 45 days, the estate ages the wine in big Slavonian casks for a minimum of seven years. more info
