The 2019 vintage is exquisitely balanced and expressive—a Pomerol of nuance and power. Neal Martin awarded it 97 points, calling it “exquisite in balance, silky smooth… a stellar showing” with red berry fruit, truffle, and Provençal herb scents. James Suckling echoed the praise with 95 points, citing aromas of mulberries, chocolate orange, and cloves woven into a velvety, polished structure. Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Independent, 94–96 points) highlights its bold freshness, grainy tannins, and exotic spice finish. Jeb Dunnuck and others praise its medium-bodied elegance, vibrant acidity, and long aging potential, projected from 2024 to 2040 and beyond.
Château Gazin is one of Pomerol’s historic estates, with origins dating back to the 18th century and a standing among the appellation’s foremost “Exceptional Growths” in many informal classifications. It is the largest single-block estate in Pomerol, spanning roughly 26 hectares over gravelly blue-clay soils shared with illustrious neighbors—an ideal terroir for Merlot-dominant blends. The vineyard maintains sustainable practices, with hand-harvesting, precise sorting, and balanced use of new oak (about 50%) to ensure depth and finesse.
