The 2010 Haut‑Bailly is both powerful and finely tuned. It opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, graphite, crushed stone, and hints of tobacco and cedar.  On the palate it is full, yet framed by elegant structure: firm, silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a mineral core that supports the dark fruit.  The finish is long and precise, with a sense of tension and potential still to unfold.  This is a Haut‑Bailly built for the long haul.

Château Haut‑Bailly is a distinguished estate in Pessac‑Léognan (Graves), long known for blending power, elegance, and aromatic complexity.  Under the ownership of Robert G. Wilmers and guided by Véronique Sanders, Haut‑Bailly has invested heavily in vineyard renewal, precise viticulture, and cellar modernization, including parcel-level vinification.  The vineyards sit on gravelly and sandy soils over tertiary deposits, giving the wines minerality, drainage, and a firm backbone.  Haut‑Bailly favors a relatively modern, refined style: moderate new oak, careful extraction, and balance between fruit, terroir, and structure.  Over the past decades, it has become considered one of the leading left‑bank estates for ageworthiness and finesse.
