The Brunello di Montalcino 2019 captures the balance and finesse of this excellent vintage. It shows a deep ruby color and an aromatic bouquet of ripe red cherries, violets, and sweet spices, enriched by subtle notes of leather, cedar, and balsamic herbs. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet elegant, with refined tannins that promise longevity. The flavors unfold with precision—juicy red berries, earthy undertones, and a touch of tobacco—leading to a long, savory finish marked by minerality and freshness. This Brunello reflects La Fornace’s classic style: structured, expressive, and crafted for both immediate enjoyment and long-term aging in the cellar.
La Fornace is a small, family-run estate located on the northern slopes of Montalcino, in a privileged position near Montosoli. The winery spans only a handful of hectares, making production extremely limited and artisanal. For three generations, the Giannetti family has managed the vineyards, working exclusively with Sangiovese Grosso. Their philosophy is rooted in respect for tradition: hand-harvesting, careful selection of grapes, and long aging in large Slavonian oak barrels. The combination of a unique terroir, meticulous vineyard management, and a traditional approach has made La Fornace a cult name among collectors who value authenticity and terroir-driven Brunello.
