The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2019 is a powerful and ageworthy interpretation, made only in vintages deemed exceptional by the estate. The 2019 Riserva reveals an intense bouquet of dark cherry, blackberry, dried violets, and tobacco leaf, layered with hints of sweet spice, balsamic herbs, and graphite. The palate is concentrated and structured, delivering richness balanced by energetic acidity and finely grained tannins. Flavors of ripe plum, licorice, and forest floor carry through to a long, commanding finish with savory and mineral undertones. This Riserva exemplifies La Fornace’s classic style—serious, complex, and destined for long-term cellaring, with decades of evolution ahead.
La Fornace is a small, family-run estate situated on the northern slopes of Montalcino, not far from the famed Montosoli hill. Owned by the Giannetti family for three generations, the estate cultivates just a few hectares, making it one of the most artisanal producers in the appellation. Their philosophy is rooted in tradition—low yields, manual vineyard care, extended maceration, and aging in large Slavonian oak casks. Every detail reflects a desire to craft wines of authenticity, longevity, and true terroir expression. Limited production and meticulous work in both vineyard and cellar have made La Fornace increasingly recognized among collectors seeking Brunello of character and purity.
