Guigal Description

Founded in 1946 in the ancient village of Ampuis in the Cote-Rotie appellation, the Guigal estate has been around for a relatively short period of time, especially when you consider that the wines of the northern Rhone has been famous for 2,400 years. Guigal is equally proficient in Hermitage red and white, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Helmed by Marcel Guigal, E. Guigal is one of the most impressive estates in the Rhone. During harvest, Guigal may have more than 15 professional teams picking at the same time in different vineyards, each carefully hand harvesting, allowing the estate to return to the vineyards three or four times to achieve optimal ripeness in each cluster. Although Guigal's vineyards stretch from the furthest south in Chateauneuf, to St Joseph in the middle of the valley, all the way north to the very top in Cote-Rotie, the name Guigal is synonymous with producing some of the world's most-sought after wines, including the famous Cote-Rotie Crus--La
