The 2016 Brunello is a testament to the estate’s diverse terroir and precision winemaking. It opens with classic notes of dried cherry, crushed herbs, tobacco leaf, and subtle balsamic hints. On the palate, it shows fine balance between ripe red fruit, taut acidity, and polished tannins. Layers of earth, leather, and savory spice unfold with air, leading to a long, structured finish. Elegant yet powerful, this Brunello captures the harmony of the 2016 vintage and will reward patient cellaring over the next 15–20 years.
Founded in 1950, Tenute Silvio Nardi was one of the first estates in Montalcino to export Brunello and among the first to believe in the importance of single-vineyard expressions. With two main estates—Casanova and Manachiara—located on opposite sides of the appellation, the winery benefits from a rare diversity of microclimates and soils. This east-west orientation allows for deep blending potential or focused, site-specific bottlings. Under the leadership of Emilia Nardi, the estate has embraced meticulous vineyard management, low yields, and a cellar philosophy that balances tradition and innovation. The result is a lineup of Brunellos with depth, finesse, and a strong sense of place.
