Christopher Deas, Italian Wine Merchants: "IWM tasted this wine once again with winemaker Axel Heinz, and the Ornellaia team.  Once again in a line up that included some serious wines, it was this little bold white that captured our attention for the second time this year. It truly is one of those yin and yang wines that offers a touch of the exotic with refreshing acidity and vibrancy under the rich texture. We would add there is more texture and a little more roundness in the 2021 bottling. You can expect much of the flavor spectrum represented here, crushed citrus flowers, elderflower, fresh cut grass, white peach, lemon, lime, lemongrass, and herbs. It is a bold wine, bordering on the exotic, that is more in line with Bordeaux Blanc, than Sancerre, but very clean and fresh. It is a true Super Tuscan white wine that can stand up to northern Italy's richer pasta dishes, as well as pair with some seaside classics and good conversation with friends.
