This 2015 from the Cannubi cru opens with a complex bouquet of violet, ripe red cherry, licorice, menthol and forest floor, layered with glossy dark berry and spice aromas. On the palate the wine delivers generous fruit yet retains superb balance — fine‑grained tannins, bright acidity, and a mineral backbone drive the finish which lingers on dried herbs, tobacco leaf and subtle sweet spice. With the pedigree of Cannubi’s sandy‐rich soils, and the ripe yet structured nature of the 2015 vintage, this Barolo is already approachable with decanting but promises 15‑20 years of evolution ahead.
Francesco Rinaldi & Figli is a venerable estate operating in Barolo since 1870, rooted deeply in the commune of Castiglione Falletto and now stewarded by the sisters Paola and Piera Rinaldi. The estate owns historic parcels in two of Barolo’s most esteemed crus — Cannubi and Brunate — and makes wines in the classic style: long macerations, aging in large Slavonian casks, and minimal filtration. With a respect for tradition and terroir, Rinaldi emphasizes vineyard clarity, low yields, and subtle cellar intervention, producing Barolos of elegance, complexity, and age‑worthy structure.
