The 2019 Chapelle Saint‑Pierre is a striking synthesis of power and elegance, dark ruby in color with a deep, alluring bouquet of black plum, rosemary, and black olive. Full-bodied yet fresh, it balances concentrated dark fruits with vivid tension, underpinned by a floral lift and mineral clarity. Noted for its “aromatic, floral note” that gains density while remaining clean and bright toward the finish, it is both approachable in its youth and built for cellaring. Expect its structure to evolve beautifully from 2026, with peak drinking potential through 2044–2046. A critic for Drink Rhône described the wine’s finish as intriguingly long, with gentle tannins, subtle spice, and a lingering hint of ash.
Domaine Alain Voge is a pioneering estate in Cornas, renowned for being among the first to plant vineyards atop the granitic slopes surrounding the Chapel of Saint‑Pierre‑aux‑Liens. With a philosophy rooted in organics and biodynamics, the domain champions authentic terroir expression through hand harvesting, total destemming, several weeks of macrophenolic fermentations in stainless steel, and aging in neutral oak barrels for 20 months. This cuvée, drawn from just 0.5 hectares of old-vine plantings established in 1999, represents rare singularity—crafted only when the vintage delivers exceptional balance and intensity.
