Solengo is Argiano’s flagship Super Tuscan—a bold and luxurious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Sangiovese. The 2021 vintage reveals powerful aromatics of dark cherry, blackberry compote, crushed violets, cedar, and subtle espresso. The wine’s structure is polished and commanding, with fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity that lift its opulence and ensure longevity. Argiano, one of Montalcino’s oldest and most storied estates, introduced Solengo in the 1990s with consulting from Giacomo Tachis, the mastermind behind Sassicaia. The wine has since become a benchmark for modern Tuscan blends, balancing Bordeaux-style power with Italian elegance. Grapes are sourced from estate vineyards with optimal exposures and low yields, then aged in French oak barriques.
