Attems Pinot Grigio Ramato continues a traditional way of producing Pinot Grigio in the province of Venice. The term ramato, or "coppery," was used to describe the pink hue of the wine due to the slight contact with the purple skins before pressing and fermenting. This rose boasts a rich, fruity bouquet, and opens full on the palate, with multi-faceted flavors: dried flowers, red apples and grapefruit.
The Attems estate was founded in 1106, when the Bishop of Salsbury donated the land to Corrado Attems. Recorded evidence of organized winemaking on the estate can be dated back to 1764, but it wasn't until 1935, when Douglas Attems revitalized the vinyards that Attems became a name to remember in Friuli. Attems went on to found and preside over the Collio wines consortium until 1999. In 2000, the Attems family aligned with the Frescobaldi dynasty, and are currently undergoing extensive modernization and renovation of their facilities and vinyards, while still producing accurate, unadulterated wines that represent the soils, culture and tradition of the Collio.
