This 2015 vintage of Barbe Rac is drawn from century‑old Grenache vines planted on the western edge of the Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape appellation—an exceptionally warm, dry site that intensifies flavour and concentration. The wine opens with profound aromas of kirsch, black raspberry coulis, licorice and garrigue herb notes, folded into a mineral‑rich structure. On the palate it delivers bold yet refined depth—silky tannins cushion dense dark fruit, while fine acidity and a chalky finish carry the wine toward decades of further evolution. 

Since its founding in 1808 in Tain‑l’Hermitage, M. Chapoutier has risen to prominence under the leadership of Michel Chapoutier, championing biodynamic viticulture, site‑specific bottlings and minimalist cellar intervention. The estate is celebrated for its “Sélection Parcellaire” programme, isolating exceptional parcels to express terroir with clarity and power.
