This 2022 vintage comes from a steep south‑east facing hillside of rocky mica‑schist soils in Côte‑Rôtie, made from 100 % Syrah. The colour is very deep with satiny black hues, and the nose opens with graphite and cold‑smoke notes, followed by bramble leaf and dark berry aromas. On the palate it is compact on entry with chiselled tannins, black pepper, roasted herbs and a saline finish—verticality, purity and mineral drive define the wine. 

Founded in 1808 and now led by Michel Chapoutier, the estate has become a benchmark for terroir‑driven winemaking in the Northern Rhône. Their approach emphasises biodynamic viticulture, hand‑harvested fruit, and bottlings that reflect the individual character of each parcel. The estate’s “Sélection Parcellaire” range captures the essence of sites like Hermitage and Côte‑Rôtie, crafted with respect for balance, clarity and longevity.
