The 2018 vintage is a profound and age-worthy expression of Pomerol. Predominantly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc, it reveals a dense core of blackcurrant, plum compote, and truffle, accented by incense, cocoa, and violets. The palate is both opulent and poised, framed by firm yet velvety tannins and a deep mineral tension. Its layered complexity and monumental structure promise decades of graceful evolution in the cellar.
Château L’Église-Clinet is one of the most revered small estates in Pomerol, consistently producing wines of extraordinary intensity and finesse. Situated on prime gravel and clay soils between Châteaux Clinet and La Conseillante, the estate was masterfully run by the late Denis Durantou, who elevated it to cult status with his meticulous vineyard work and minimal-intervention winemaking. Now under the guidance of his daughters and winemaker Olivier Gautrat, L’Église-Clinet continues to honor his legacy with uncompromising quality and a deep respect for terroir.
