The 2018 vintage is a stunning example of modern Pauillac—powerful yet refined. A blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it opens with aromas of cassis, graphite, violets, and subtle toasted spice. On the palate, it is lush yet impeccably structured, with deep layers of ripe black fruit, tobacco, and crushed stones. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity provide tension and drive, while the finish lingers with silk and smoke. A standout vintage with decades of aging potential, the 2018 Pichon Lalande is both seductive and noble.
Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is one of Pauillac’s most elegant and historic estates, often referred to simply as “Pichon Lalande.” It sits just across the road from Château Latour and has long been a benchmark for balance and finesse on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. Known for its high proportion of Merlot compared to neighboring properties, the wines of Pichon Lalande display a signature suppleness without sacrificing structure or aging potential. Since its acquisition by the Rouzaud family of Louis Roederer in 2007, the estate has undergone extensive modernization, further elevating its reputation for quality and precision.
