The 2015 Cicala is perfumed and bright, showing open notes of dried flowers, dark berries, and sandalwood.  It is full-bodied and structured, with layered red‑berry fruit, licorice, espresso, and fine minerality, finishing soft yet polished with integrated tannins. 

Poderi Aldo Conterno is one of Piedmont’s most esteemed Barolo estates, founded by Aldo Conterno in the late 1960s. The estate is based in the Bussia Soprana area of Monforte d’Alba, and Aldo’s sons (Franco, Giacomo, and Stefano) continue his vision of crafting terroir‑driven Nebbiolo with elegance, depth, and longevity. They manage vineyards with rigorous attention—low yields, soil health, and vine age—and their approach favors long aging in large Slavonian oak casks (botti), rather than pushing for early showy extraction.
