Big, bold, and mineral-laden, the '17 Donnaluna Aglianico explodes from the glass in a shower of sun-warmed berries and plums, new leather, olive tapenade, smoky minerals, and pressed potpourri. Chewy tannins cling to the cheeks; keen acidity piques the palate; a sweet inner perfume teases the nose; and savory minerals linger on the wine's sustained finish. De Conciliis crafts its Aglianico Donnaluna to be approachable early--it's expressive, food-friendly and a complete delight. A mono-varietal Aglianico as of the 2015 vintage, Donnaluna Aglianico ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel and ages for a year, half in stainless steel and half in used oak.

Bruno De Conciliis capitalizes on southern exposure and ancient soils in the ripe climate of the Cilento zone of Campania to produce full-bodied, fruit driven wines that are more approachable than the austere Taurasi. His signature wine is the majestic 'Naima' (named after the John Coltrane song and the winemaker's love of jazz), which is a recent Tre Bicchieri winner; but Bruno also makes a range of Aglianicos in varying styles, with Zero catering to the collectors' market. This is a limited production, modern style Aglianico that is complex and elegant. In addition, he produces wines outside this market which can be enjoyed at contained prices. With jazz echoing in the cellars to keep his wines happy, the juice of De Conciliis is sure to be a hit with any wine enthusiast.
