A potent blend of approximately 65% Grenache and the balance Syrah (plus minor other varieties), with just 30% destemming and aged exclusively in demi-muids, this wine unveils stunning aromatics—ripe red and black fruits, herbes de Provence, ground pepper, and violet notes—with touches of incense and spice. Despite its immense power and opulence, the wine remains astonishingly balanced, retaining freshness and silky yet substantial tannins. Domaine de la Janasse, managed by the Sabon family since its founding in 1967 by Aimé Sabon, has expanded to over 90 hectares, including around 15 hectares within Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape.
