The 2023 La Doriane opens with a chorus of orange blossom, honeyed flowers, toasted spice, and grilled peach aromas.  On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, with richness and focus, framed by fresh mineral lift and a long, elegant finish.  While already expressive, its concentration and frame promise it will evolve beautifully over the next decade.

Guigal, based in Ampuis in the Northern Rhône, is one of the region’s most storied names, especially famed for its Côte-Rôtie “La La” trio and its broader Rhône holdings. The La Doriane cuvée is Guigal’s flagship Condrieu, conceived to showcase Viognier at its fullest aromatic and structural potential. The grapes are drawn from some of the best lieux-dits in Condrieu (e.g. Côte Chatillon, Chéry, Volan, Colombier), planted on steep granitic and schist soils. Guigal handles La Doriane with great precision: hand harvesting, selection, vinification in small new French oak barrels, and full malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged in new oak for nine months, giving richness and texture while retaining purity. Over the years, La Doriane has become a benchmark for ambitious white Rhône, blending power, finesse, and longevity.
