With hints of white flower and grapefruit that give way to precise minerality, the finish lasts on the palate for several minutes revealing subtle apple and pear. A complex nose of Chardonnay fruit and herbal notes combines with delicious, solidly concentrated flavors that deliver excellent length and acidity.
Maison Leroy, a negociant wine house founded in 1868, purchases grapes or young wines from producers with whom it has longstanding relationships. Vigneronne and owner Lalou Bize-Leroy takes an uncompromising approach to her winemaking, and Maison Leroy crafts standard-setting Burgundies from a range of appellations. Exact vineyards and protocol for this wine are unspecified; however, it's possible that Bize-Lalou includes some grapes rejected from Domaine Leroy's world-famous bottling.
