The 2015 Masseto magnum opens with an inky ruby‑garnet hue and a profound, layered bouquet of ripe black cherry, plum compote, blackcurrant and dark chocolate, interwoven with cedar, violet, graphite and a whisper of espresso and leather.  On the palate it is full‑bodied and powerfully built, yet remarkably polished—dense layers of dark fruit are framed by silky, chalk‑fine tannins and vibrant acidity that lend energy and structure. Mid‑palate complexity reveals licorice root, roasted herb, crushed stone minerality and sweet spice that underpin the fruit’s intensity. The finish is long and resonant, carrying echoes of dark plum, tobacco leaf, saline minerality and forest floor into a refined lingering impression. Balanced for both early appeal and long‑term cellaring, this 1.5 L version enhances texture, presence and ageing potential—expect graceful development over 15–20+ years in a well‑conditioned cellar.
