A superb vintage for Montalcino, the 2013 Pertimali is lively and structured, with aromas of ripe cherry, cedar, rose petals, balsamic notes, and hints of graphite. The palate shows tension and depth, with firm yet refined tannins and a savory core that carries through a long, mineral-driven finish. It’s a vintage of precision and aging potential, blending richness and restraint in classic Sassetti fashion. A true expression of Montosoli elegance and power.
From the prestigious Montosoli hill, Pertimali is a benchmark estate in Montalcino, founded by the Sassetti family whose roots in the region go back to the early 1900s. Livio Sassetti was instrumental in promoting traditional Brunello di Montalcino worldwide, known for eschewing modernist trends in favor of integrity, terroir, and longevity. Today, the estate is run by Livio’s sons with the same dedication to organic farming, native yeast fermentation, and long aging in large Slavonian oak. The wines are distinguished by their balance between power and elegance, consistently expressing the iron-rich soils and cool breezes of Montosoli.
