The 2003 Saffredi is a powerful and expressive vintage, with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (≈70 %), Merlot (≈26 %), and Petit Verdot (≈4 %) according to the estate’s specifications.  It displays deep aromas of black cherry, licorice, leather, and incense, along with hints of spice and tobacco.  On the palate it is full‑bodied and rich, with firm but well‑integrated tannins, bold fruit concentration, a savory backbone, and a long, persistent finish. 

Le Pupille is a boutique estate located in the Maremma region of Tuscany, founded and guided by Elisabetta Geppetti. The estate has built a reputation for producing terroir-driven wines that combine boldness and elegance—especially exemplified in their flagship Saffredi, a Bordeaux‑style red blend that has come to define the estate’s ambition and style.
