The San Giuliano estate is a small, family-run winery in Neive, one of the historic villages of Barbaresco in Piemonte. Their vineyards cover roughly seven hectares on calcareous-clay soils with classic south- and southwest-facing slopes, including the estate’s namesake hill “San Giuliano” and the nearby cru “Marcorino.” Many of the vines are between 50 and 70 years old, giving naturally low yields and excellent concentration, all farmed with traditional, low-intervention methods.
In the cellar, San Giuliano follows a gentle and respectful approach: soft pressing, careful destemming, temperature-controlled fermentation, and aging that favors large neutral oak for Nebbiolo while using smaller barrels only where it enhances balance. Production is modest—around 60,000 bottles per year—allowing the family to focus on precision, purity, and an honest expression of each grape and vineyard.
Beyond winemaking, the estate embodies the warm, rural character of the Langhe. San Giuliano remains one of those quiet, under-the-radar producers whose work reflects the spirit of Neive at its most genuine and if you are looking for affordable, delicious and honest wines that won’t break the bank and will please almost any palate from.
