The 2017 Le Petit Clos is a powerful yet elegant blend of Carmenère, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, showing the estate’s hallmark depth and structure. On the nose, it delivers black plum, blueberry, cocoa, and fresh tobacco, framed by notes of crushed herbs and wet stone. The palate is plush and layered, with velvety tannins, fine acidity, and a core of ripe fruit that unfolds with mineral and graphite complexity. Aged in French oak barrels, it has a long, polished finish. Drink now or cellar for 10–15 years.
Clos Apalta is the iconic estate of Lapostolle, one of Chile’s most prestigious wineries founded by the Marnier Lapostolle family—famous for Grand Marnier in France. Located in the Apalta Valley of Colchagua, this dramatic amphitheater of steep slopes and granite soils has proven to be one of South America’s grand cru-level terroirs. The estate has earned critical acclaim for its commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture, architectural innovation (its gravity-flow winery is built into the hillside), and its Bordeaux-style blends that rival top wines globally. Le Petit Clos was introduced as a more approachable sibling to the Grand Vin, yet it carries the same precision and pedigree.
