This majestic white is made from 100% Marsanne sourced from the south‑facing Le Méâl vineyard on Hermitage, yielding an intense and ageworthy wine. In the glass it displays brilliant golden yellow hues and opens with exotic aromas of mixed citrus, pineapple, pear and melon layered atop crushed‑stone minerality and honeyed tones. On the palate it offers richness and weight, yet retains freshness and precision—notes of candied tangerine, orange blossom, flower oil, and roasted almond emerge with a silky texture, culminating in a long mineral‑driven finish. This is a white built for the long haul—drinkable now but with the structure to evolve beautifully for decades.
M. Chapoutier stands among the most distinguished houses in the Northern Rhône—founded in 1808, the estate has been a leader in biodynamic and terroir‑focused viticulture under the direction of Michel Chapoutier. Their Hermitage holdings include several premier lieux‑dits such as Le Méâl, L’Ermite and Les Gréffieux, with each cuvée crafted to express its unique soil and aspect. Fermentation and aging protocols are meticulously chosen—often including large barrels (demi‑muids), gentle stirring of lees, and low yields—to preserve both power and refinement.
