This 2022 Ermitage Blanc de L’Orée is drawn from the “Les Murets” parcel of Hermitage, planted to mature Marsanne on granitic and alluvial soils. In the glass, it displays a deep golden‑yellow hue with faint green glints and opens with an aromatic profile of flint, citrus oil, honeycomb, white stone fruit (apricot, white peach), crushed stones and pale floral notes. On the palate, it offers rich mid‑palate weight coupled with razor‑sharp mineral tension, bright acidity and a seamless integration of fruit, oak and gravel‑driven structure. There is remarkable finesse for the vintage—generous yet precise, today compelling but built for the long term, with an estimated drinking window extending 15–20 years. 

M. Chapoutier is a revered wine domain in the Northern Rhône, founded in 1808 and today led by Michel Chapoutier, who has been a pioneer in biodynamic viticulture and terroir‑specific bottlings. The estate’s “Sélection Parcellaire” program dedicates particular cuvées to individual vineyard plots—each treated according to its unique soil, exposure, and micro‑climate. In the Hermitage appellation, Chapoutier owns and manages several of its most celebrated parcels, and their approach blends tradition (low yields, hand harvesting, native ferments) with innovation (minimal intervention, sustainability, parcel integrity).
